The heritage of Prada fashion can be traced back to 1913 Milan, Italy when Miuccia Prada’s grandfather Mario Prada opened a small boutique specializing in high quality leather goods and accessories catering to the rich and influential. The orginal classic Prada suitcase made for train travel was made of heavy walrus skin, however, as plane travel became the order of the day Prada moved to lighter bags featuring high quality items made of crystals, tortoise shell and wood.
