KIM FRANCIS has found a fabulous designer label that’s loved by celebrities yet won’t break the bank and the designer behind Ruby Jeans told her how quality is the key to great looking denims.

Every week it seems there’s a new brand of designer jeans hitting the shelves – flying off just as quickly and on to the pins of various celebs.

Those cool cats on the prowl for style that’s a little edgy should make a stop Thursday night at Diesel Club Lounge for the Threads fashion show.

This will be no ordinary runway walk.

The evening will feature three up-and-coming young designers with cutting-edge ideas about clothes. The theme is spring, music, fashion and culture.

Check out a tulle tutu, a retro blazer from the 1960s redone with intricate stitching, or a hip custom-made T-shirt.

Eco-Fashion Just not For You

If you were wondering when this eco-aware fashion stuff will end and the industry will get back to the raping and pillaging of earth’s natural resources and animals don’t hold your breath. Everyone is on the environmentally conscious fashion train with little to no end in sight. The New York Times a couple of days ago featured an article on Future Fashion (the initiative spearheaded by EarthPledge and Barneys New York).
